the “God of War” video game series’ first debut was in march, 2005 for the PlayStation 2.
The series takes place in ancient Greece and follows Kratos, a mortal-turned-god hellbent on revenge against the Gods of Olympus. Since the game’s initial release, it has become a smash hit and one of PlayStation’s strongest IPs, producing four more “God of War” titles with the latest being “God of War: Ragnarok” released in November of 2022.
While there are no official news on a potential remaster for the earlier titles, fans are eager to get their hands on a modern day re-release of the original “God of War” made for the PlayStation 5 console.

This mockup of a potential “God of War” remaster was made using 2022’s “Ragnarok” photo mode. All are original photos taken by myself, in-game.
Creative Breakdown:
For this project, I wanted to create a grittier, earthier tone. The God of War series is all about brutality, and I wanted to showcase that visually with graphics showcasing battling monsters and using Kratos’s iconic weapons. I also wanted to showcase the new and improved graphics of the hypothetical remake, so photos that show more scenery were utilized.
